Who Are The Nephilim

The King James version of the Bible does not include the term Nephilim.  In this approved version, the Hebrew word has been translated as "giants."  A number of stories have grown up suggesting they were fallen angels who had intercourse with human women or were the offspring of such or were perhaps the children of Cain or the children of Seth who rebelled against God and married the daughters of Cain.

Easton's Bible Dictionary has this to say, "

(Genesis 6:4; Numbers 13:33, RSV), giants, the Hebrew word left untranslated by the Revisers, the name of one of the Canaanitish tribes. The Revisers have, however, translated the Hebrew gibborim, in Genesis 6:4, "mighty men"

The intermarriage with the daughters of man occurs early in Genesis on the Biblical Timeline while the later references in Bible history occur after Moses to the time of David.  Goliath is included in this group.
